LGBTQ+ IMMIGRATION

For immigration purposes, this means that a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident may now petition on behalf of his or her or their same-sex spouse for an immigrant visa. LGBTQ+ couples are now also eligible to file K-1 (fiancé/fiancée) visa applications, and a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident may be a

qualifying relative for his or her or their same-sex spouse for the purposes of cancellation of removal proceedings and inadmissibility waivers.

Our office strongly believes that LGBTQ+ rights are human rights and that individuals that identify as queer, gay, lesbian,  bisexual, and transgendered individuals are entitled to equal treatment under the law and respect and acceptance within their communities. We work everyday to inspire those beliefs in others.
