Our divorce practice.
At Garcia Legal Group, P.C. we seek to educate our clients on the laws that surround their case. One of the more common cases we handle are divorce cases, in which we advise our clients on the grounds for divorce and other requirements such as the following:
According to Texas state law, an individual may file for a divorce if at least one of the spouses has lived in the state for a minimum of 6 consecutive months. Grounds for filing a divorce are:
- Irreconcilable differences
- If the couple has lived apart for at least 3 years
- Domestic abuse or cruelty
- Abandonment - for a minimum duration of 1 year
- A felony conviction
This is an example of the information we commit to providing our clients before any major decisions are made and before a determination is made in regards to what you should do next.
Our team is committed to providing compassionate and empathic services for victims of domestic violence. We provide personal and emotional support to our clients as well as resources to get help beyond our legal services.
