News: Woman killed, 5 children injured in Carrollton hit-and-run crash

CARROLLTON, TX - Police in Carrollton are searching for the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run crash that happened on Monday night.

According to KDFW, a red Camaro collided with a minivan in the vicinity of Marsh Lane and Dove Creek Lane.  Authorities said the Camaro was speeding southbound and may have been street racing when the driver lost control and crashed into the northbound Toyota minivan.

A 43-year-old Carrollton mother in the minivan was pronounced dead at the scene.  Five children with her in the vehicle were transported to an area hospital.

Police said the driver of the Camaro fled the scene on foot after the wreck, leaving their car behind.  Investigators have now identified the suspected driver and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
