GRAND PRAIRIE, TX - A car accident in Grand Prairie early Monday morning left a driver dead, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Police said the wreck involved a Toyota SUV going west on Interstate 30 near Belt Line Road at about 1 a.m. According to investigators, the driver went off the highway and struck an interstate sign in the median between the main lanes and the frontage road.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the SUV at the time. The westbound lanes of I-30 were shut down for several hours while the scene was being cleared, causing traffic backups through the area.
