FORT WORTH, TX - Two Fort Worth police officers were among three people injured in a crash on Interstate 35 early Thursday morning.
According to KDFW, the accident happened on I-35 in the vicinity of Berry Street, where three drivers were stranded on the highway after debris had damaged their vehicles.
After police came to the scene to help, another driver crashed into their police vehicle. The impact then caused that car to hit one of the vehicles that was disabled. Another car then slammed into the damaged vehicles, and that driver left the scene without stopping to help.
Two police officers and the driver of one of the cars that was disabled were taken to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The driver involved in the initial crash did stay at the scene. One of the injured officers was credited with pulling his partner and the injured driver to safety prior to the later collision.
